All Years, Charity Dress Down Day - Wednesday 19 June
On Wednesday 19 June, we will be running a charity dress down day to raise money for Healing Waves, a charity that helps injured and disabled people through ocean therapy.
For a minimum donation of £2, staff and students are invited to dress to a 'beach wear' theme (think Hawaiian shirts and board shorts, not speedos!) There will also be a cake sale and a staff vs Prefects volleyball match at lunchtime on College Field.

All Years, New Payment System
In order to streamline the payment and refund processes for school activities Victoria College is introducing ParentPay, an online cashless payment system. ParentPay will allow you to pay for everything in one place including charitable donations for dress down days, co-curricular clubs, activities week choices, on and off Island trips and Homework Club.
By now, all families should have received an activation email for each child from ParentPay directly (please also check your junk email). Please use this to activate your account as soon as possible.
Parents are kindly requested to enable alerts so that every time a new item is available to you, you will receive an alert. The “Manage Alerts” button can be found on your Homepage and you can set these for “New Items", either sending you an email or Text Message.

All Years, PSHE and School Diversity Week
This term all of our KS3 students will be learning about diversity, equity and inclusion in their PSHE lessons. We will cover a range of topics linked to the nine protected characteristics, which form the Equality Act 2010. Students will explore a range of topics, including disability, sexuality, race and bias. The meaningful conversations that take place in PSHE aim to help our students develop the empathy, skills and kindness they will need to succeed in the wider world, as well as fostering the kind of inclusive environment in school where all students can be free from discrimination as is their right in Article 2 of the UN Rights of the Child.
Beginning on Monday 24 June, Victoria College will also be celebrating School Diversity Week, along with over 6000 schools across the UK. This is coordinated by the charity, Just Like Us ,and is a celebration of LGBT+ equality and allyship, showing all young people that being LGBT+ is nothing to be ashamed of. This celebration helps our mission to be a diverse community where everyone is valued and supported to achieve their potential, as well as encouraging our students to be allies and to inspire every individual in our school to contribute positively to society.

The Year 12 Activities Week will take place from Monday 15 - Friday 19 July. The emphasis is slightly different to that in the lower years at Victoria College. Each member of Year 12 is expected to use this week to maximum effect and to see it as a genuine opportunity for self-development, which will enhance both their own CV and their forthcoming application to university or to employment after A Levels.
We are still missing a lot of forms from parents for this week. Although the deadline has passed, please do let us know what your son's choice for this week will be as soon as possible before the options become more limited.
