VAiiE join as first Foundation Partner for VCP
Victoria College Preparatory School (VCP) is delighted to announce their collaboration with local technology company Vaiie as their first Foundation Partner. Foundation Partners are corporate or commercial companies that offer Victoria College schools funding to aid students learning through bursary support or capital projects.
In the first Foundation Partner relationship of its kind, Vaiie is sole sponsors of the Year 3 iPads, an initiative that allows students in Year 3 to learn through technology for their whole journey at the preparatory school.
iPads develop learning skills in younger students in a multitude of different ways, including accessing multimedia resources, multitouch navigation, problem-solving (puzzles and games) as well as allowing teachers to save money by using digital resources – eliminating the excessive use of paper.
iPads also offer a portable learning experience, allowing students to take their devices with them, not restricting learning to the classroom.
Throughout this academic year, Vaiie will also collaborate with students at VCP through their coding, touch-typing, computing classes , career talks and participate as judges in the annual coding competition.
First launched in 2019, Vaiie is part of the Jersey Post Group and provides cutting edge regulatory technology that enhances, secures and digitises compliance processes for its clients in the financial services.
Lee Bosio, Managing Director, Vaiie says “We are extremely excited to be VCP’s first Foundation Partner. As a digital business, we are strong advocates that technology integration in schools can support both students and teachers. Devices help remove barriers some students face in accessing learning resources, and it’s fantastic that we can support the school to make great education more accessible to the students.”
Dan Pateman, Headteacher, VCP says “Having Vaiie onboard has opened so many doors for our new Year 3 students. Aiding their learning in a new way and allowing boys to experience digital technology at such a young age is essential for developing skills for later life. We are delighted that we have onboarded our first Foundation Partner and are looking forward to working with them closely throughout the coming months.”
The Foundation was launched in 2002 as part of the 150th anniversary of the opening of Victoria College. It was related to support the ever-changing needs of school life and help sustain the long-held tradition of providing quality education for all. It plays a vital role in fundraising for capital projects that allow the school to continue to expand and enhance its facilities to meet the needs of our boys, the school and education in general.
